memory upgrade
posted on Tuesday, April 4th, 2006 at 6:04 pmWell, I finally upgraded the memory in my two main computers here today. I bought a Dell Dimension 4600 and a Dell Dimension 2400 back in the summer of 2004. The computers are great but were due for an upgrade. In my computer (the 4600), I went from 512MB to 1GB of memory. Then I put my old 512MB into the family computer (the 2400), which had 128MB.
So far, all is working as expected. I bought the 1GB from Crucial.com. I recommend them for anyone looking for a memory upgrade. Here are the specs of what I have now:
Dimension 4600:
1GB (2×512MB) PC3200 (400-MHz) DDR SDRAM, 184-pin DIMM
Dimension 2400:
512MB (2×256MB) PC2700 (333-MHz) DDR SDRAM, 184-pin DIMM
