About 90 minutes ago, all major news networks called the U.S. presidential election, affirming that Sen. Barack Obama will be the next president of the United States.
Well, I did not vote for President-Elect Barack Obama. I simply disagree with his position on many issues, and I question whether he’ll be able to do many of [...]

I just realized this morning that my favorite bible passage explains my position on taxes in America. There seems to always be an argument about whose taxes will go up and whose taxes will go down in any particular economic plan. Sen. Barack Obama has a plan that supposedly provides tax relief to the middle [...]

…if you believe anything you hear in a campaign TV ad. I am sick and tired of all political campaign TV commercials. They are all just a bunch of crap. John McCain, Barak Obama, John Gard, Steve Kagen, all of them. When it comes to advertising on TV and radio, every single one of them [...]

Alaska governor Sarah Palin was announced as Sen. John McCain’s running mate in the U.S. presidential election back on August 29. It’s been three weeks now, I’ve got so much to say about her, and I’m just getting around to putting my thoughts down in black and white.
The Selection
Like most people around the country, I [...]

Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin are in Green Bay today, and I’m quite excited about it. I’m going to see them tonight with my daughter which will be pretty special. She’s my oldest, she recently turned 18, and she’ll be voting for the first time in November.
Cameras okay. No purses. No cell phones. [...]

I wrote in this blog 4 weeks ago about Nancy Pelosi, about her thinking and her juvenile methods that go into her decision making. My thoughts were based on an interview with readers of Time Magazine.
Well, I must go back and write about that issue one more time. In the August 25, 2008 issue of [...]

A week ago, Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama met with Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA. Warren interviewed them each individually, asking them identical questions so that obvservers can get an accurate view of the differences between the two U.S. presidential candidates.
I finally got a chance to watch the [...]

The August 1, 2008 issue of The Compass has an article titled, “Priest shares insights on illegal immigration“, with a subtitle of “Fr. Rueter urges Catholics to look at economic issues behind illegal immigration.”
The overall tone of the article is nice. But unfortunately, it’s yet another example of a Catholic priest trying to appeal to [...]

One thing I can’t stand about many politicians is when they are asked a question, instead of actually answering the question, they give a half-assed response in order to just get past the question. And if that response happens to slam their opposing political party in the process, bonus points.
One such politician is Nancy Pelosi [...]

We need oil. We use oil. We have oil.
I’ve been thinking and reading a lot about the debate over drilling for oil. And I’ve just whittled all the oil drilling arguments down to 9 words. The above 9 words are the reason the United States should drill more for domestic oil. It’s all that simple.
You [...]

The United States is too dependent on foreign countries for oil. That’s our problem, plain and simple, and we must solve it.
Senator John McCain (Republican candidate for president) is calling for more domestic drilling. President Bush is calling for more domestic drilling. Senator Barack Obama (Democratic candidate for president) opposes the drilling. Obama is wrong. [...]

My favorite TV news man died today. Tim Russert was the NBC Washington bureau chief, and for the past 17 years, moderator of Meet The Press. Russert was at the NBC studios in Washington this morning when he collapsed from a heart attack, what his doctor called a “sudden coronary thrombosis”. He died immediately.
When it [...]
