Well, I’ve been off the radar for a bit on my blog. I’ve spent the past six months in so many other activities; I’ve had so much to say, but I’ve just been focusing my energies elsewhere.
I filed my papers to run for De Pere City Council in December, and spent the next 4 months campaigning. I knocked on 1,500 doors and put 70 miles on my shoes. And on April 3, I was elected as alderman in De Pere’s District 3, on the northwest side of town. District 3 starts roughly from Westwood Ave and goes north just past the Brown County Fairgrounds, including the campus of St. Norbert College.
So I was sworn in on April 17, and it’s been a busy first 2 months. In addition to the city council itself, I also serve on the Board of Public Works and the Board of Park Commissioners. So, to keep in touch with constituents and to share my thoughts on city issues, I started a new blog where I’ve been focusing my attention lately.
The new blog is only for city-related issues, and I’ll continue to use my personal blog here as time permits for everything else.
